It’s hard to believe the eternally youthful Ash are those same (practically embryonic) wunderkinds who unleashed a riot of buzzsaw indie-rock on their Trailer EP SIXTEEN years ago. Good lord. Never ones to rest on their laurels, for the past year Tim Wheeler and co have shifted the pace up a few gears, unleashing a single a fortnight for their maverick A-Z project. Naturally, the second compendium in the series is simply bursting with infectious hooks and shout-along choruses: those Downpatrick boys may now be the elder statesmen of the scene but they’re still the masters of melodic, adrenaline-fuelled pop-rock.
