Cannibalism isn’t acceptable. Sure, you’d think that’d be a no-brainer, but it took having their video (nasty) banned by YouTube for Azari & III to become enlightened on this particular issue. In the long-run, it seems pushing the limits of decency paid off because ‘Hungry for the Power’ subsequently became a bona fide dance anthem, as did the follow-up ‘Reckless (With Your Love)’ and as will every track on their eponymous debut, if all goes to plan. Of course, a little bit of credit should be given to the Toronto-bred quartet’s ability to serve up a platter of satisfying deep-house and nu-disco in the first place. But, really, what we’ve all learned is that ultra-violence pays.
