She’s already worked with Chase & Status and been labelled “genius” by Chaka Khan, but we reckon Delilah’s about to eclipse those auspicious beginnings with From The Roots Up. Why? Well, there’s the fact her co-writers include Plan B and Sia. There’s the fact she’s borrowed Beyoncé’s producer. Most importantly, however, there’s that voice; so seductively soulful she could probably sing her shopping list over a bagpipe orchestra and still have folks utterly transfixed. Thankfully, she doesn’t. Drawing on a diverse sonic palette that encompasses pop, dubstep, trip hop and R&B, From The Roots Up is a mightily impressive debut.
