San Franciscan Sam Grawe has taken time out from the spaced-out house and neo-disco he produces as one half of Windsurf, to unveil his latest offering of new-age soundscapes for Lo Recordings. Across six sprawling tracks that fluctuate between the epic and the ambient, overlapping synths, sequencers, bleeps and disembodied vocals are woven into a sun-dappled sonic blanket that simultaneously relaxes and sates those cravings for cerebral electronica. So whilst Zeus and Apollo might not go as far as convincing the skeptics that sun-worshipping is the way forward, the Vangelis-via-Eno vibes contained within ought at least go some way to making them reappraise their preconceptions.
