An East London-based, art-rock five-piece, whose line-up includes one of The Horrors’ younger siblings, the founder of Underage festival and Mr Peaches Geldof: it all just sounds a little too good to be true, doesn’t it? Well wait, it gets better yet… Not only were they invited to join Depeche Mode and Nick Cave on Mute’s illustrious roster, and to support Portishead live back in July, on their debut album they worked with David Bowie’s producer. There’s certainly no denying S.C.U.M.’s impeccable rock ‘n’ roll credentials, but have they got the talent to match? We think so, yes. And if reverb-drenched atmospherics are your thing, Again Into Eyes can’t fail but entrance.
