Not sure about you, but we’ve always suspected the makings of a cult-leader in Flaming Lips frontman Wayne Coyne. Think about it: his unkempt appearance, his penchant for surrealist psych-rock, his predilection for conducting ritualistic acts of crowd participation… The plot thickens further with The Lips’ latest long-player: Coyne has used his infinite powers of persuasion to get an eclectic array of musical talent to collaborate with him, including Yoko Ono, Erykah Badu, Nick Cave, Bon Iver and, er, Ke$ha. Unsurprisingly, it all sounds great. But should any of his impressive supporting cast be subsequently found up to no good, you know who’s to blame.
