Of all the world’s musical cities, Berlin has to have one of the most impressive track records, having fostered thriving techno and new wave scenes, and coaxed classics like Heroes, Low and Lodger from King Bowie himself. Understandably then, decamping to Deutschland seemed like a smart move to The Ting Tings when they started seeking inspiration for Sounds From Nowheresville. Three years, six scrapped songs and a spell in Spain later, it’s fair to say it didn’t quite all work out as expected … Fortunately, the follow up to their double-platinum debut offers no audible signs of a struggle, just a load more shouty, hook-driven earworms.
