About Black Lips
In the wake of the Strokes and the White Stripes, seemingly any band with a fuzzed-out guitar lick and a four/four beat was labelled as garage, yet few young bands of the era indulged as genuinely in wild, unhinged throwback rock & roll as Atlanta's Black Lips. The band members were still in their teens when they came together in 2000, immediately finding a strong fanbase within the underground garage-punk scene thanks to tough, soulful songs and a notoriously outrageous live show. In 2006, the Lips made the jump to the big-indie label Vice Records with the release of the live album LOS VALIENTOS DEL MUNDO NUEVO, and the studio full-length GOOD BAD NOT EVIL followed in 2007.
