You remember how we all wept at the news of the Take That break-up? Well they are back! Ok, so that is old news but this is the point: next time we hear the news that our favourite gang of music makers has decided to call it a day, we need longer weep so wetly, as they are sure to return, no matter what they say; just give them 10 years or so to pull their socks up.
It is a trend perhaps started with the Eagles with their Hell Freezes Over tour. Those guys had no intention of ever playing together again, as the wry title of the tour testifies. And last year we heard the startling news that The Police were touring again. Who would have thought eh? By the time those musical law enforcers quit, things had got violent. Maybe one day we will marvel at the sight of Paul Weller and The Jam thrashing them out on stage together? Ok, some things will never happen...
A Weller equipped Jam aside, it seems more and more evident that differences can be overcome, vows can be broken, and in the name of good, old fashioned professionalism, the comeback will be made. This is great news for fans, who would never have imagined that they would get another chance to see their idols perform as a unit again, or ever get a fresh album out of them.
In celebration of these good times, we’ve dedicated an entire page to these comeback kids, for your downloading pleasure. Get busy.
