Mos Def
The Ecstatic

Mighty Mos has decided to forget that acting lark for a while and return to what he does best - making pure hip hop for the masses. It was a good decision, too - The Ecstatic is up there with Black On Both Sides and Black Star on the quality scale, and features guest spots from the legendary Slick Rick, the incredible Georgia Anne Muldrow and, of course, Talib Kweli.

Busta Rhymes
Back On My B.S.

One of the shrewdest emcees to hold a microphone is back, dropping his eagerly awaited 8th album. Bringing a super smack down line up of star emcees including the Neptunes, Lil Wayne, Jadakiss, T.I., Akon, Dr. Dre, Mary J. Blige, Jamie Foxx, John Legend, and Common, it doesn’t get much bigger than this.

Notes To Self
A Shot In The Dark

Listen up! Notes to Self have dropped their debut A Shot in the Dark, and trust us - you're gonna want to peep this! Harking back to the late 90s heyday of Dilated Peoples and giving it a 2009 shine, this is real hip hop - intricate rhymes and beats so hard your neck's gonna be in trouble! This is one of the hottest releases so far this year - don't sleep on this!

Method Man / Redman
Blackout! 2

Partners in rhyme Method Man and Redman are back with their follow up to the ‘Blackout’ album, naming it with the not-so-inventive title ‘Blackout 2’. But what does the title matter when they're delivering another solid line up of emcees and beat makers, including Pete Rock, Raekwon, Ghostface, UGK, Erick Sermon, Buckwild, Keith Murray and more?
