Camden Crawl 2012 MIXTAPE 2012: #1 (2012) by Various Artists
As survivors of this legendary weekender will attest, there’s something for everyone at the ‘Crawl. Last year’s event was a case in point: one minute crowds were calmly appreciating the sensitive acoustics of Villagers, and the next, invading the stage during OFWGKTA’s riotous gig. This free, 16-track mixtape was curated in that spirit: showcasing the array of talent on 2012's genre-hopping line-up. That includes rock-n-roll-hip-hop from Willy Moon, asymmetric indie from Dutch Uncles, beatific electro-pop from Chew Lips and blistering rock from Marmozets.
Camden Crawl 2012 MIXTAPE 2012: #2 (2012) by Various Artists
With the latest batch of line-up announcements comes the latest installment in our Camden Crawl mix tape series. And we think you’ll agree that compilation number two is even more generous than the first, boasting a whopping 23 tracks to whet your appetite for May bank holiday weekend. Amongst the eclectic musical haul, you’ll find free MP3s from opening party headliners, Death in Vegas, Gorillaz-guesting soul singer Daley, Mackem post-punk revivalists The Futureheads and Gallic indie-poppers Fránçois & The Atlas Mountains. Download on the house here.
Camden Crawl 2012 MIXTAPE 2012: #3 (2012) by Various Artists
Perhaps not as good as ‘Return of the Jedi’, but probably superior to ‘The Godfather: Part III’, the final installment of our Camden Crawl mixtape trilogy has arrived. And what a way to conclude the saga! This epic, 24-track behemoth explores suave synthpop with NZCA/Lines, psychedelic folktronica with Stealing Sheep, blistering rock-riffage with Kids in Glass Houses and a fair few other musical nooks and crannies. All that remains for you to do is grab your free download here, swot up at home and head down to the festival. We’ll meet you outside Koko on 4th May, yeah?
