Quantum Of Solace: Original Motion Picture Soundtrack

Bond is back! and Arnold (Independence Day, Hot Fuzz) returns with his fifth score for the hugely successful franchise. With Bond out for revenge, Arnold's Barry-esque score is there with the trademark brass and bass to fuel the high-octane chases and one-on-one fist fights. Bond's globe-trotting antics also allow for a Latin American flavour to infuse his softer moments and customary conquests. Features Jack White & Alicia Key's 'Another Way to Die'.

Elfman (Wanted, Hellboy 2) takes the musical reigns for McG's post-apocalyptic tales from the near future. Dispensing with the primarily electronic sound of his predesessors and with a theme that riffs on the original, Elfman's mostly orchestral score still achieves a suitably industrial sound but adds a more human dimension to the proceedings. Rumbling brass and snappy percussion herald the mechanical menace, while strings, horns and acoustic guitar highlight the human plight.

Classic Scores

Superman
Superman Soundtrack

Is it a bird? Is it a plane? No, it's the soaring score for everyone's favourite Kryptonian - Superman! Williams' epic spans the galaxy as his grandiose and heroic themes follow our hero from the destruction of his homeworld to the heights of Metropolis and his battles with its criminal underworld. Williams reached new heights in 1978 with his Oscar-nominated compositions, and even today the heroic 'Main Title March' is still synonymous with the Man of Steel.

John Williams
E.T. The Extra Terrestrial

Williams' conjures up another classic score, this time for Steven Spielberg's tale of friendship between a boy and an alien lost on Earth. Fleeting violins, tender harps, heroic horns, rumbling brass and B-movie style keyboards chart the action from enchanted forest to quiet suburbia and (with the authorities in hot pursuit) back again by means of an exhilirating BMX chase to see E.T. safely home. Full of heart-string-plucking magic and edge-of-the-seat excitement this is one of Williams' finest
