Flamboyant U.K. singer-songwriter Mika was heralded as both a one-man Scissor Sisters and the heir to Freddie Mercury's glam throne. Mika's debut single, "Grace Kelly," shot to the top of the U.K. singles chart upon its release in January 2007, with the song's unselfconscious sense of camp endearing him to the "guilty pleasure" crowd. Mika's debut full-length, LIFE IN CARTOON MOTION, followed suit, topping the U.K. albums chart in February of the same year. A blend of soft rock and melodramatic piano ballads, the album also displayed the influence of Prince and Harry Nilsson, and even some of the eclecticism of Beck.
