7digital Announces Strategic Partners, New SDK and App for Tizen
We’re happy to announce that we’ve got some new partnerships and some upgrades to our platform.
First off, our collection of mobile apps will be getting a new friend in the form of a mobile app for Tizen, an open-source OS geared at wearable tech devices. The app will have the following features:
- À la carte music download purchasing
- Access to cloud-based locker
- 30 second song previews
- And more
We believe we are yet again the first music download store to make it onto this new operating system – we were number 1 for both Windows 8 and Firefox. As much as we push the platform approach for work with partners, we are always excited to show you what we can do with our API and open up even more options to our loyal user base.
We will release our Tizen app in Q2 of this year, so keep an eye out and watch this space!
Secondly, we just announced a new software development kit, which supports new concepts for music engagement on mobile. Genre and theme based services are encouraged to work with this SDK to create their own branded product and custom music experiences on mobile. Partners with their own content rights can use the kit to release apps with very light development resources for a faster time to market, others can talk to us about licensing from our catalogue. Payment technology for advertising, subscription and in-app purchasing models are supported. Get in touch today to see about making an excellent app using the 7digital SDK for mobile.
We’re also excited about a platform upgrade that will allow us to support radio-style streaming in partnership with Audioboo, UBC Media and AdsWizz.
AdsWizz will allow our partners to easily include advertisements for another form of monetisation on streaming products. Audioboo and UBC bring us excellent new broadcast style catalogue integtal to the radio style offering. We are delighted to be working with these fantastic companies.
Innovation with digital music comes loaded with so many product and legal requirements – we are happy to help simplify the process through these three new initiatives. Let’s collaborate!
