7digital What we said: For Bradford Cox, making music is less a career decision and more an irrepressible urge. As the creative force behind Deerhunter and Atlas Sound, in the past two years alone he’s released two studio albums and four volumes of home recordings; and while prolificacy on this level differentiates Cox from his peers, the quality of material produced catapults him into another league entirely. Parallax eschews the ambient soundscapes of 2009’s Logos, to pick up where last year’s wonderful Halcyon Digest left off. It’s psychedelic, experimental dream-pop like this that has us hoping Cox doesn’t go on hiatus any time soon.
