A decade on from that seminal debut, The Strokes may no longer be able to trade on being the enigmatic new kids, but they’ve put those ten years of experience to good use on the constantly surprising, totally infectious Angles. As their most collaborative effort to date, the reggae-ish guitar treats of ‘Machu Picchu’ and 80s synth-driven ‘Games’ nestle amongst a sumptuous banquet of choppy indie axe-work, proving that whilst Casablancas and co may be as effortlessly cool as ever, they’re still evolving.
