The Killers
Day & Age

Let's be clear, if anyone is still expecting a re-hash of Hot Fuss they will be disappointed. While Sam's Town – derided by some, lauded by others - may have been a transitory album, Flowers and his Vegas brigade explicitly stated their intention to move on and Day & Age is the sound of their completed metamorphosis. Hurling themselves over the Atlantic once more, the band weave deftly between euphoric dancefloor fillers and the cynicism of New Wave.

We've got the album for £5 and you can grab it here. While warming your vocal chords in preparation for sing/screech/wail along session, you may like to watch the video for latest single 'Human' by clicking play on the left.

Massive Attack
Heligoland

Although this is their first album for seven years, Massive Attack can hardly be accused of laziness: having produced much soundtrack work, they’ve also roped in a stellar cast of guest vocalists for Heligoland, including Guy Garvey of Elbow, TV On The Radio’s Tunde Adebimpe, Damon Albarn and one-time Tricky collaborator Martina Topley-Bird. Those trademark murky, down-tempo beats are back in full effect, and from the opening track it’s clear the intervening years haven’t been wasted. Heligoland marks a welcome return to the fold.

Yeasayer
ODD BLOOD

Despite reputedly being inspired by a heroic acid trip, the sophomore offering from Yeasayer is far from an impenetrable affair, nor is it as woozily psychedelic as its genesis might lead you to believe. Adventurous use of brass and synths, coupled with a keen ear for the catchy hook, make it clear that Yeasayer also have an eye on the mainstream: Odd Blood may well be the album to see them crossing over, like Animal Collective before them.
